Is it happiness, fulfillment, romance, love, money, fame, success, power, good health, freedom from stress, freedom from worry, freedom from fear, a quiet life, an exciting life, security, knowledge, experience, the answers to life, the universe and everything, the truth???
It's all out there if you really want it – if you really, really want it.
But maybe what you're really looking for is not a “what”, but a “WHO”.
Maybe you're just looking for yourself. Because if you desire all the things above and they are eluding you, then they are actually eluding “who you are”. Maybe changing who you are would bring those things to you.
But then if you did change who you are, you might also change what it is you want. And to change who you are, it's helpful to know who you are.
It seems like a dilemma, but it's not. Once you find out who you really, truly are, “wanting” doesn't come into it any more – because you move into a state of “having”. And when you “have”, you stop “wanting”... you stop looking for it.
If it seems complicated, try asking “who's doing the wanting?” You'll say “me!” But who ARE you? Do you really know?
THAT...is the starting point for everything, and everyone. It's called “self-awareness”- and it's probably the most important thing you could/should ever “want”...
