But just as with any “gift” or creative aptitude, it has to be acknowledged, believed, and then nurtured through practice to become more than just a latent talent. If someone believed from an early age that they had a natural born talent for a particular thing, for example music, language, drawing, math..., and if they were encouraged in the practise of this talent, and they developed a genuine passion for it, then they would practise of their own accord, continually improving their knowledge and ability until they reached a level of mastery that proves they had a natural born talent. And it may be so, but without the continual practice – the continual “doing” – even a born talent would not reach beyond the basic level of competence.
If we put our minds to something, really put our minds to something, to anything, and pursue it with passion, everyone is capable of practically everything. But how quick we are to deny ourselves the pleasures of our talents through our disbelief, our lack of interest, and our laziness when it comes to learning. And how quick we are to belittle ourselves, announcing proudly that we don't have the talent, as an excuse not to pursue it. And how quick we are to belittle others by believing that if wecan't do something then they can't do it either.
But we are all limitless in our nature and in our connection to a greater consciousness – a consciousness that holds all knowledge, all creative energy, a consciousness that IS all of us. And that consciousness is sharing/transmitting its knowledge, its awareness, its “all knowing” for everyone and to everyone ...continuously.
You are a receiver for this information, it's all yours to pick up whenever you choose. Every time you have a profound thought, or idea, or understanding, you have unconsciously opened a channel to this greater consciousness. All creative thoughts, all specific passions, all “born talents” come through this channeling – it's not our brains that have the thoughts, that hold the memories, that learn new things... they are simply decoders of the information that is being channeled to us from a source that holds all.
And it's all yours for the channeling. How do you do it? How do you tune in to your channel?
*By believing it.
*By acknowledging it – being aware of it when you feel inspired; when you have profound creative thoughts; when ideas come to you from seemingly thin air; when you sense with your heart, and listen to it.
*By asking the greater consciousness for knowledge, understanding and guidance.
*And finally, by practising.
