And there I was complaining about how cold and windy it was when I was out filming - but I had the best day. Yesterday it rained and even hailed. . . . this is May for god's sake, why is it hailing in May? And it's no better today - stormy and wild. But last night I sat before an open fire with a glass of whisky, so that was a pleasure - though I'd rather be sitting in the sun.
We're working on the second phase of our song-video creation. Singing in the locations we chose gave us great visuals but the wind and water means we have to re-record the songs somewhere quiet to dub over - means me playing back and miming to my own songs. This is how music videos are made but we've done it back to front, which makes it a little harder to keep in synch. But it's an interesting process - lip reading myself. We've been experimenting with the recording technique and editing on a suitable program that's more professional than my simple Windows-moviemaker.
This is our work for today - let's see how far we get.
In the meantime I published a quick video that we did in a less windy location, which meant I didn't need overdubbing - this was made on moviemaker. You can view the video here on my YouTube channel. The picture below is a still from the same location.
This is so much fun to do, and I've got more than 60 songs I want to make videos of so I'm going to be busy for a long time - and when those songs are done I've got lots of new one's waiting to be written.
